What Art is to Me...

I like to think of art as a creative outlet for the soul. My soul longs to express the very creative nature that God has given me. I believe that I am capable of doing so through the art that I have and will complete in my lifetime. My works are reflections of my personality. A love for gothic and comic art is greatly expressed in the majority of my works. By this I mean dark contrasting shading, very small intricate detailing that covers the entire subject, very jagged or pointy detail, and a somewhat grimace appearance. My sketch work especially shows this style. In the fantasy sketches, all of my characters are painstakingly detailed with ornate iconography, marked with a trademark shading style of tightly woven pencil strokes. This, along with exaggerated anatomical proportions along a two dimensional plain leaves my signature on the art. If someone experiences my art, I intend for them to enjoy it, but also remember it. The graphic pieces in my collection are a little different from the rest of my art. They tend to be very colorful, full of character, and take on sort of a cartoonistic style. I choose to use a lot of beveling of objects, contrasting shades, and many colors. However, I do still use a primary color to which all of the other colors are matched. This is for the attention grabbing effectiveness it seems to have. Recognition of an artist should be established the first time someone views a piece of his art. Immediately.

Artistic Goals

Five Year - In five years, I would like to establish "Original Design", ascertain my home based free-lance graphics and web design business, and generate a respectable clientele.

Ten Year - In ten years, I hope to have developed a small graphics firm out of "Original Design," which would be a three or four employee business that can stand on it's own.

Twenty Year - It is my dream that I will have established my name as a professional Illustrator. Aside from business, I want to have provided a healthy life for my family.
